Long Island Pianist

Welcome to the website! I play piano for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, bar/bat mitzvah's, luncheons, dining and special events on Long Island, and my name is Michael Hagglund.
Music is a very personal thing and I will play for you the music you love!
A good portable instrument is available if needed. You can scroll down for info about me, plus photos, testimonials and contact information. Demos of my piano playing are here or you can follow one of the other links on the page.

About Me

Music is what I do full time. I received my BA in Music from Hunter-
Lehman College and I've had many musical experiences since then.
When I'm not performing, I write music and record. I have a solo
piano album of original music on Pandora, and I was runner up
in the Contemporary Piano category on SoloPiano.com in 2012.
You can also hear my original music on YouTube, on Whisperings Piano Radio, on iTunes, on Amazon's subscription music service, etc. A lot of that music is pretty laid back except for a few on Reverbnation (check out 'Garden of Delights' for a mood piece with nice piano, and 'Whodunit'  for organ and jazz piano plus other instruments). I played all the instruments on those tracks. I also perform with rock, jazz and classical musicians. I can often hook you up with those musicians if that's something you'd like.

One of the pleasures of being a pianist is being asked to learn
music that I didn't know before. There are a LOT of great songs
out there that I wouldn't have learned to appreciate otherwise.
You can hear a few of those on the demos page, where you'll get a small sampling of some of the things I do.

Some photos and testimonials are right below (click on each one to enlarge).

A Personal Touch

If you have a busy lifestyle it's often easier to let an entertainment or DJ company organize everything for you. I've worked for several of those companies, some are quite good, and I continue to do so from time to time. However, if you have the time, I think it can be more rewarding for you to deal directly with someone you're thinking of hiring. Personally, I'd much prefer to be in contact with you before I play for you, to have a conversation and discuss with you the music you'd like. I think most performers who care about what they do, and who they're doing it for, feel the same way.

My rates are reasonable. I invite you to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns. You can fill out the contact form if you like, or else bypass that and contact me by phone at: 516-467-9755 or by email at: michaelpf1@outlook.com
